SCCYC Waterside Connect ‘Connecting Communities’

SCCYC provides vital support to poverty disadvantaged and vulnerable people in the most deprived 1%-10% indices of Northampton and to BAME communities requiring culture specific support.  Additional critical support has been in operation since March 2020 for people deeply impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Support Service: Tailored advice, information, and referrals to support organisations.
Support Surgeries: Regular surgeries are delivered by professional volunteers on a host of topics at SCCYC.
Food Aid and Resources Bank:  Free food, toiletries, cleaning products, and other resources as and when needed by beneficiaries.
Punjabi Fusion Social Enterprise: Free hot hearty food for food aid beneficiaries.
Urban Gardening: Sustainable food growing and gardening project for improvements in health, wellbeing, and social interaction.
Critical Food Aid Items:  Cereal, Orange Juice, Bread, Margarine, UHT Milk, Fruit, Vegetables, Coffee, Tea, Biscuits, Crisps, Pasta, Pasta Sauce.

SCCYC have been busy offering emergency covid-19 support service since the pandemic started in March 2020.  These are some of the areas we have been involved in the Northampton community.

  • Food Bank: Donations of dry, fresh, and frozen food
  • Community Kitchen: Free Hot food service
  • Shielding Support: Prescriptions and grocery shopping
  • Support: Information, translated advice, advocacy, referrals, and BAME culture specific support
  • Resources: Clothing, household, toiletries, and hygiene products
  • Support and Poverty – Social Action Appeals: Hamper events for deprived clients; Sewing PPE for NHS staff; knitting woollies for elderly warmer winter appeals; Environmental campaigns
